Damage is not one thing. Bonds broken by bleach need different care from ends worn thin by heat, and the two respond to different molecules.
The three kinds of damage
Broken bonds come from bleaching, colouring and chemical services. They sit inside the fibre and need bond-building chemistry to rebuild — conditioner cannot reach them.
Surface damage comes from heat, brushing and friction. The cuticle lifts and wears away, leaving hair rough, dull and prone to tangling.
Split ends are terminal. Nothing reseals a split permanently; products can bind it temporarily, but the only real fix is scissors.
Our top picks
- For broken bonds: Olaplex and K18 — two different molecules doing the same job from different angles. Reflexions is an official stockist of both.
- For deep structural repair: L'Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Molecular, a peptide bonder for damaged to very damaged hair.
- For weakened, over-processed lengths: Kérastase Résistance, graded by how damaged your hair is.
- If hard water is compounding it: Kérastase Premiere, which removes calcium build-up before repairing — worth doing first, because deposits block everything applied afterwards.
- For visible split ends: Redken Extreme Anti-Snap, which helps prevent further breakage between cuts.
Expert guidance
Getting the order right matters more than the products — decalcify, then rebuild bonds, then seal the surface. Our stylists across Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Rajkot can sequence it for you. Book a consultation at any Reflexions salon.
